ESADE has moved up three positions to become the #9 business school for MBA studies outside of the United States, according to Bloomberg Businessweek’s annual ranking of international MBA programmes. In specific categories, the list ranks ESADE #4 for alumni and #8 for employers. Moreover, according to Bloomberg Businessweek’s survey of current students all over the world, ESADE is ranked #8.

“We are very proud to once again be named among the world’s top 10 business schools outside of the United States,” commented Josep Franch, Dean of ESADE Business School. “For ESADE, this is an important recognition of the hard work performed by all of our departments, which strive for excellence and are committed to innovation and entrepreneurship.”

A plural ranking

The main point of interest in Bloomberg Businessweek’s international MBA ranking is its methodology. The ranking integrates the results of five major surveys whose carefully weighted results provide an illuminating snapshot of the global business school sector.

The aspect given the greatest weight in the Bloomberg Businessweek international MBA ranking – 35% of the final score – is the employer survey, which assesses recruiters’ views on student employability. The next most important aspect, accounting for 30% of the overall score, is the alumni survey, which assesses MBA graduates’ satisfaction with their respective schools. The final score is rounded out by the student survey (15%), salary increase after graduation (10%) and job placement rank (10%).
