Founded the Centre for Tourism Management in 1990 and was its Director until September 2004. Programme Director of the Tourism Management-Executive Programme. Director of the International Tourism and Leisure Symposium 1992. Professor of the Tourism Marketing, Strategy and Commercialisation Department at ESADE Business School. PhD in Communication, Degree in Contemporary History, Master in European Studies, Post-graduate Degree in Communication.
He is the author of various books, including " Gestión destinos turísticos sostenibles " [Management of Sustainable Tourist Destinations] Gestión 2000 (2004); "A Comparison of European Travellers Leisure Styles" in “The Tourism and Leisure Industry, Shaping the future", The HHP, New York, pags 151-168 (2004); "Gestión de companies de turismo y ocio” [Management of Tourism and Leisure Companies] (Gestión 2000 (2000); "Las claves del mercado turístico [The Keys to the Tourism Market] (Deusto (1996); "La imagen de marca de los países [Countries' Brand Image] (Valls, McGraw-Hill, Madrid (1992). He has taken part in numerous projects, including the Tourism Plan of the State of Alagoas, Brazil (2007), the Tourism Plan for the Sierra de Capivara and Costa Norte, Brazil (2004), Tourism Plan for Baix Llobregat (2000), Tourism Plan for Peru (1998) - and the Tourism Plan for Lleida, (1996). He has directed studed such as "Proposta de finançament turístic a Barcelona, la taxa turística" [Tourism funding proposal for Barcelona. Introduction of a tourism tax] for Barcelona City Council (2005), and "Un marco estratégico para fortalecer el sistema económico insular compatible con la contención del growth turístico en Lanzarote” [Strategic framework for strengthening the island economy and containing the growth of tourism in Lanzarote] Lilfe-Cabildo Lanzarote programme (2004). He has also collaborated with various bodies, including the AECI, the Inter-American Development Bank and the WTO (World Tourist Organisation).
