Ignasi Carreras

Director of ESADE's Institute for Social Innovation and Lecturer in the Department of Business Policy, his areas of specialisation include strategy and change management within organisations. He holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering (UPC) and an MBA (ESADE). He has also carried out post-graduate programmes at Harvard, Stanford, Babson College and EAE. He volunteers for various NGOs and foundations and is a member of their boards of trustees. In addition, he is a member of the Global Reporting Initiative's international Management Board and has served as General Director for Intermón Oxfam.

He coordinates the Institute's research and is Assistant Professor in the ESADE Department of Social Sciences. He holds an MA and PhD from the Committee on Social Thought (University of Chicago), an undergraduate degree in Philosophy (Universitat de Barcelona) and a certificate degree in the Executive Development Program (ESADE). He teaches Sociology, Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. His research focuses on business ethics and CSR, but he has also published articles on political theory and aesthetics. He has been a professor at ESADE since 2002.

Josep Mª Lozano

Senior Researcher and former Director of the Institute for the ESADE Individual, Corporations and Society (IPES), his research and teaching have focused on corporate contributions to society and on human qualities within organisations. He is the Director of the Observatorio de los Fondos Éticos, Ecológicos y Solidarios (Observatory on Ethical, Ecological and Solidarity Funds in Spain), co-founder of Ética, Economía y Dirección (the Spanish branch of the European Business Ethics Network), member of the Ethical Perspectives and Society and Business Review's international councils, and member of the board of trustees or advisory council for numerous foundations and associations. He has been a professor at ESADE since 1986.

Alfred Vernis

He holds a PhD in Public and Non-Profit Management from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service (New York University). Currently, he is Associate Professor in the Department of Business Policy and the Institute of Public Management (IDGP) at ESADE (Universidad Ramón Llull). He is also the Director of the Course "The Managerial Role in Non-Governmental Organisations" (Fundació "la Caixa" - ESADE) and is responsible for the Social Enterprise Knowledge Network (SEKN) in ESADE. He has published numerous articles and books on third-sector management and on collaboration between the public and private spheres. He is co-author of the book La gestión de las organizaciones no lucrativas (Deusto, 1998) and has recently published Los retos en la gestión de las organizaciones no lucrativas (Granica, 2004). He currently serves as a member of the Fundació Catalana de l'Esplai's (Barcelona). He is also a member of Grupo INDITEX' (Arteixo, Galicia) Social Council.

Sonia Navarro

She has served as Head of Management and Communication for the Institute since 2008. She holds an undergraduate degree in Communication and Electronic Engineering (Northumbria University, England) and a Full-Time MBA (FT 2001) and FGONG (2007) from ESADE. After completing her MBA, she worked as Head of European Marketing in London for Bluesocket, an American start-up in the telecommunications industry. In September, 2006, she joined the ESADE Alumni team to launch the Alumni Giving Back project which the Institute for Social Innovation supports academically.
