  • Alfons Sauquet, Ph.D.

  • Alfons Sauquet is Dean of ESADE Business School, Vice-Dean for Research and Knowledge at ESADE and Professor in the Department of Human Resource Management of URL at ESADE. His research interests cover: Knowledge and Learning in Organisations; Teamwork and Team Learning, and; Organisational Behaviour and Expertise.

    He has lectured at HEC Paris, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam and Wharton School of Business in addition to being Visiting Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics and the Copenhagen Business School. He has been CEMS Chairman of the Interfaculty Group in Organisational Behaviour and Adviser on Educational Quality Programmes for the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) and for Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. He has been a consultant to various organisations and currently provides consultancy to the United Nations Development Programme Agency.

    He holds a PhD in Education and an MA in Organisational Psychology from Columbia University, New York. He also has an MBA from ESADE and a Philosophy degree from the University of Barcelona.

  • Eduard Bonet is Emeritus Professor at ESADE-URL. He has served as Vice-Rector of this university (1999-2002), and was the founder and former director of the PhD Programme in Management Sciences at ESADE. Although his interests cover a full array of topics, his current research areas are: Rhetoric and Science; Metaphors as Cognitive Models; Modes of Reasoning; Epistemology; Qualitative Research, and; Narratives in Management Research.

    Eduard is one of the founders of EDAMBA (European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration) of which he is currently the President. He is also one of the founders of EUDOKMA (European Doctoral School on Knowledge and Management) and participates in many of its seminars in Copenhagen, Henley and Kingston.

    Eduard holds a PhD in Mathematics from Universitat de Barcelona. He is a member of the International Statistical Institute and has previously served as General Director of Statistics for the Autonomous Regional Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya).

  • Elena Bou is the Director of the GRACO Research Group. She is the Director of the Executive Master in Operations at ESADE and Associate Professor in the Operations and Innovation Department at ESADE-URL. Her research interests cover the following areas: Knowledge and Learning in Organisations; Expertise and Practice-Based Studies; Knowledge-Intensive Firms and Professional Services, and; Service Management.

    Since graduating she has worked as a consultant in the implementation of quality systems and organisational change in different types of companies, in private and public organisations and within a European context (Spain, Germany and England). She has carried out different research projects including the coordination of the European Research ESPRIT Project: "Performance Measurement System for Total Quality Management", and more recently the study on knowledge dynamics within organisational and professional practice.

    She holds a European PhD in Management Sciences from ESADE-URL, and a BBA and an MBA from ESADE.


  • Tricia Smith, Ph.D

  • Tricia holds a PhD from ESADE-URL in Management Sciences and an M.Sc in Applied Linguistics from Edinburgh University. She is currently languages manager for the ESADE Graduate School MBA programmes where she designs and teaches courses on English for communication in management. She is a leading member of the CEMS
    (Community of European Management Schools) Languages Group and in charge of English proficiency assessment for CEMS. Tricia has worked in Venezuela where she was seconded by the British Council to the Ministry of Education as a languages advisor, and in New Zealand for a governmental immigrant education-for-work programme.

    Her research currently focuses on in-company written discourse and emerging written management genres. She is a visiting lecturer at the Vienna Business School. (WUW) and has given numerous lectures and conferences throughout Europe on the relationship between languages and management effectiveness. She is the author of "Market Leader - Business Law" by Longman.


  • Jordi Trullen, Ph.D.

  • Jordi Trullen is an assistant Professor of the Department of Human Resource Management at ESADE. He holds a PhD in Organization Studies from Boston College and a BBA by ESADE. His areas of expertise are organizational change and cognition and organizational learning.

    His current research explores the role of cognition in employee responses to quality evaluations. His research interests also include practical wisdom in management, organizational change, and design research as an approach to accomplishing change. He has co-authored two forthcoming articles in Journal of Applied Behavioral Science and Organization Studies, and has already published in other journals such as Business and Society, The Systems Thinker, Journal of Health Service Research and Policy, and Human Resource Development International. He has also recently co-authored chapters in the Handbook of organizational and managerial wisdom and the Handbook for Transformative Cooperation.

  • François has been working on social networks and inter-organisational mobility. He is currently investigating the relationship between inter-organisational social networks and the demography of entrepreneurial ventures.

     

    In his doctoral thesis he examined how reliance on status in selecting alliance partners varies according to the seekers attributes in the global software industry.

    He has also investigated the notion of intuitive or habitual action comparing the approaches of two important theorists: Herbert Alexander Simon in economics/cognitive psychology and Pierre Bourdieu in sociology.


  • Paris de l'Etraz

  • Paris de l'Etraz is a part-time PhD candidate at ESADE-URL. Paris is interested in the Knowledge Management field, and is currently studying performance in knowledge-intensive firms (KIF).

    At the same time he is a board member and consultant of Amazing Sports Lab, AG, (Madrid, Spain) and Swissrisk Financial Solutions, (Madrid, Spain). He previously developed his professional career in the banking sector and in Mergers & Acquisitions within an international context (London, New York, Zurich, Madrid).

    Paris holds a degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Computer Science from Boston University. He has also been the recipient of the Kodak Award for Excellence in Computer Science.


  • Dagmar Hildebrand

  • Dagmar Hildebrand is a PhD candidate at the ESADE-URL. Dagmar is interested in Knowledge Management and Human Resources where her current research focuses on knowledge in the organization and its performance.

    Before joining the PhD programme, Dagmar studied Business Administration at the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) in Germany where she graduated as a Diplom-Kauffrau. During her studies she worked in the field of Human Resource Management and Knowledge Management in various multinational mercantile and consultancy companies.


  • Henry López Vega

  • Henry López is a Ph.D. candidate in the management area and studies innovation and learning issues emanating from different innovation environments at ESADE's Human Resource Management Department. Henry's research is centered on innovation environments with specific focus on the learning process and knowledge transference. Most of his research seeks to understand the processes through which organizations, societies and entrepreneurs continuously innovate. Related to this, he is also doing research on how the European Living Labs promote a collaborative environment for innovation and works as a researcher for the European project called Laboranova.

    Henry received an MBA from Reutlingen University in Germany and a Master on Organizational Change and Leadership from Pfeiffer University. Prior to starting his Ph.D. Henry gained his international experience in USA, Germany and Bolivia where he worked for Merrill Lynch and GMR-Marketing and Bisa bank.


  • Henning Droege

  • Henning Droege is a Ph.D. candidate in Management Sciences at ESADE-URL. Henning's current research focuses on the impact of different learning sources on new service development. Henning's research is supported by the Catalan Government and the European Social Fund.

     

    Before joining the PhD programme, Henning worked in Germany, the United States, and Spain as an internal consultant for a large manufacturer. During that time he was responsible for projects in areas such as Customer Relationship Management, Business Process Improvement, and Enterprise Resource Planning. Henning studied Business Administration in Germany at the Business and Information Technology School (BiTS) and in Australia at the University of Queensland where his main subjects were Strategy, Controlling, Logistics, and Information Management.


  • Sabrina Moreira Ottani

  • Sabrina Moreira Ottani is a PhD candidate in Management Sciences at ESADE-URL and her studies are supported by the Programme AlBan, the European Union Programme of High Level Scholarship for Latin America. She holds an MA degree in International Business from the University of Greenwich (England) and a BA degree in Economics from the University of Brasilia (Brazil). 

    Sabrina research interests cover: knowledge firms and innovation, institutionalizing knowledge management in the implementation of a strategic decision, tacit knowledge and its effect on knowledge transfer in business networks, leveraging collective knowledge creation through collaboration.

    Prior to joining ESADE PhD Programme, Sabrina worked in the Center for Strategic Management and Studies (Ministry of Science and Technology - Brazil) as a strategic management analyst, in BrasilTelecom (a Brazilian Telecommunication Company) at the Strategic Vice-Presidency and also for some Brazilian Federal Government Institutions such as the National Water Agency and the Institute of Applied Economic Research.

     


  • Mohammad Hosein Rezazade Mehrizi

  • Mohammad Hosein Rezazade Mehrizi is a PhD candidate at ESADE-URL. He is now doing his first year (Master of Research) courses. His major focal area is knowledge and innovation management.

    After doing his B.Sc. in electrical engineering at Sharif University of Technology, Mohammad shifted to management and got his MBA in 2005 from Sharif University of Technology. After that, he started researching in different areas of knowledge and innovation management. In 2006 he was awarded a grant to stay at SPRU (University of Sussex-UK) for working on innovation studies as part of a joint PhD program in Science and Technology Policy. 

    Over the past five years, Mohammad has worked in different consultancy projects in Iranian companies focusing on knowledge management. Now he is the chief consultant of knowledge management in The Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
