  • Miriam Diez Piñol, PhD Candidate

    Organisational Psychologist. She has worked in the human resource area since 1993. Her area of research focuses on topics related to the quality of work life, and labour health and stress as seen from an organisational and cultural perspective.

    She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Psychology at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) and has been a member of the IEL research group at ESADE since 2001.

  • Caroline Straub,PhD Candidate

    Caroline Straub is currently a PhD candidate in the Institute for Labor Studies, ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Her research interest is focused on females in top management teams and their influence on a company's work-family culture. She has co-authored a publication on Work Ethical Values and holds a single authorship on work life balance issues and females career advancement.

    Caroline graduated with a Master Degree on Business Administration from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. For undertaking her PhD she receives a full scholarship and she will continue her doctoral studies at York University, Canada as visiting researcher.

    She has been a member of the IEL research group at ESADE since 2004.


  • Yingying Zhang, PhD Candidate

    Yingying Zhang was born and educated in China. After obtaining her bachelor in Economics at Xiamen University (China), she pursued an MBA study at ESADE (2000), where she is currently accomplishing her PhD in Management Sciences. Besides that, she has received training in different countries such as Singapore, U.K. and Denmark.

    Coming from practitioner background, she is specialized in Chinese management and international comparative human reosuces management among others. After her extensive experience in different industries such as consumer goods, machinery, logistics and technology, she is currently lecturer, researcher and consultant in various themes of Management. One of her last research projects is the internationalization of Spanish firms in China from the perspective of strategic human resources, which is carried out in Institute of Labour Studies, ESADE.  

    She has been a member of the IEL Research Group at ESADE since 2004.


  • María José Parada, MBA

    Maria José Parada holds an MBA from ESADE (2001). She also studied at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Católica Boliviana (1998). She collaborates on research projects at the Institute of Labour Studies at ESADE.
     
    Currently, she teaches undergraduate and masters-level classes of Strategic Management and Corporate Finance at ESERP for the University of Staffordshire programme and Financial Statement Analysis and "Management in action" at Barcelona Business School. She has also worked for an American telecommunications multinational in the area of financial analysis and management control and in the finance department of a family-run wholesaler in the tourism industry.

    She has collaborated with ESADE's Institute of Labour Studies since 2004


  • Chad Albrecht, PhD Candidate

    Chad Albrecht is a member of the Institute for Labor Studies and a Ph.D. candidate at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.  Chad holds the prestigious IGSOC grant sponsored by the Government of Catalonia. 

    Chad serves as President of the ESADE Doctoral Society.  His research focuses on global management, and corruption and fraud from an organizational perspective.  This research line addresses how organizational corruption is perceived and perpetrated across cultures.

    Chad graduated with a bachelor degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, USA and received his Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (Equivalent to the British Master of Philosophy) from ESADE Business School in 2006.

    Chad has co-authored several publications including 3 books. Chad currently teaches International Business, Human Resource Management, and Trust in Organization classes at La Salle - Universidad Ramon Llull as well as Barcelona Business School.  

    Chad is a member of the IEL research group since 2005.

    - Consultant in Organisational Development. Master's from the GR Institute for Organizational Development & Personnel Management, Israel.

    She has been a Lecturer in the Department of Human Resource Management at ESADE since 1990. Since 2001, she has been a member of the research team for the Globe Project: Cultural Influences on Leadership and Organizations (the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania).

    Her doctoral thesis focuses on the different organisational leadership styles between entrepreneurs and CEOs. She joined the IEL's Leadership Division in January, 2007.
