Welcome to the ESADE Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management
The purpose of this institute is to host and nourish many of ESADE’s most significant efforts to understand the creation of knowledge and innovation. Our team is a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to understanding the sources, mechanisms and consequences of innovation: where it comes from; how it is diffused and adopted; and how it affects individual, social, and economic structures when in use. Our main research topics include open innovation, scientific discovery and technology transfer, platform and ecosystem design, sustainable technologies and systems of use, open government and democratizing technologies, as well as a variety of trends within serious games, policy simulation, quasi-experimentation and socio-technical ethnography. With so many new systems of open and democratized innovation and creativity being used by large corporations, governments, and NGOs, our goal is to better understand the full dynamics of their design and use, costs and benefits, creative potential and disruptive consequences.
