Oare Ehiemua
MBA 2014, Nigeria
CEO OPL Academy
Creating a better world begins with having an idea. Oare wanted to address the 30 percent youth unemployment rate in Nigeria, where companies were overlooking talented locals to take on employees from abroad. Leaving a well-paid job in private equity to found the OPL Academy, she now trains young people to become tradesmen in the construction industry.
She describes the Esade MBA experience as being like an onion, discovering more layers the deeper you go, giving her skills, and a community of support with lifelong value.
“Coming to Esade was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
Magnus Berrer
MBA 2012, Germany
Finance Project manager, SAP
For Magnus, the Esade MBA was part of his ongoing journey of constant improvement. To never be satisfied with past achievements, but instead to see what can and must be changed to tackle future challenges.
At SAP, he is exploring ways that new technology such as Artificial Intelligence can transform traditional finance processes. And he believes that progress depends on working together.
“Esade challenged me and changed my way of thinking. The input from my classmates broadened my horizons.”
Diana Verdugo
MBA 2012, USA
Partnerships Lead at Formlabs
Diana moved into the 3D-printing sector with Formlabs after experimenting with the production processes of the jewellery company she co-owned. To innovate, she says, you must transform a status quo. And improvement is always possible.
Before joining Esade, she had background in industrial engineering. During her MBA she co-founded the Design and Innovation MBA club, and developed the business skills she needed to have a bigger impact.
“Look at what you’re doing. Celebrate it. Then look for improvements to do it better.”
Oriol Roda
MBA 2013, Spain
Founder and CEO, Mammoth Hunters
Oriol has a PhD in Molecular Biology and experience researching pancreatic cancer. But he believes that the lack of management knowledge is a weakness for most scientists – which is why he chose the Esade MBA. As founder of training and nutrition company Mammoth Hunters, he now aims to close the gap between scientific knowledge and real-life applications.
His time at Esade was a transformative experience that taught him social skills and how to manage abstracts as well as data, giving him the confidence to launch his own company.
“The MBA helped me achieve things I was dreaming of. My life changed completely.”
