The MSc in Digital Business program is an expansive educational journey. And every journey needs a good map. The program structure shows your road to graduation: where you’ll go, what you’ll learn and what you’ll do. Business Integration Path (BIP)

JULY - SEPTEMBER

Esade Master in Management programs are primarily targeted at those with undergraduate degrees in business administration or economics.
 
If your degree is in a different discipline, we still invite you to apply. The Admissions Committee will assess your candidacy and, if admitted, we will ask you to enrol in the Business Integration Path (BIP) course, which will give you a grounding in management basics.

Online module: 1st July 2024 - 25th August 2024

4 self learning online courses that have to be completed before the beginning of the on campus classes.

On campus classes: 26th August 2024 – 13th September 2024

Welcome Week

SEPTEMBER

Official Program Start: 16th of Semptember 2024
 
The Esade Welcome Week is designed to help you hit the ground running. You'll get to know the Esade management teams, find out how the Masters program fits into the broader context of the business school, and get a full overview of the program's academics and career services. You'll learn what is expected of you and we'll help you to make your time at Esade a success, sharing some proven tips and guidelines. Group work is a key element of the Masters program and you'll have the opportunity to get to know the other MSc participants straight away as you begin your journey together.

The Esade Welcome Week is mandatory.

Term 1 – Digital Business Models | 19 ECTS

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER

The first term will provide a basic understanding of global business models leveraging technologies such as cloud computing, software, computer architectures, artificial intelligence, data bases, programming, and distributed ledgers (blockchain), creating a foundation for the subsequent modules in the master.

Digital Technology (4 ECTS)

  • Focused on digital transformation, digital business, and the impact of digital technologies on organizations. It covers topics such as big data, artificial intelligence, digital strategy, digital product design, technology management, digital compliance, and other essential aspects of the digital business landscape

Digital Strategy (4 ECTS)

  • Delves into how digital technologies enable new business models, alter competition rules, and challenge strategic assumptions. Includes a deep dive into digital strategy and business models, sales and growth hacking, investment management, digital law, cybersecurity, ethics & society, and technology & philosophy, among other relevant areas

Digital Product (Data-Driven) (4 ECTS) 

  • Designed to teach the basic concepts behind the design of a digital data product related to big data and machine learning. It focuses on how organizations use data to drive product design and decision-making.

Digital Channels & Omnichannel (3 ECTS)

  • Focuses on the design and creation of customer experiences based on the interaction with digital channels. It addresses the development of omnichannel strategies, optimal pricing per channel, and the implementation of marketing strategies through different channel options

Technology, Ethics and Humanism (4 ECTS)

  • Aims to provide participants with the theoretical and practical axiological knowledge to thrive in innovation-driven environments. It focuses on defending an ethical horizon based on human dignity and the possession of fundamental rights, emphasizing the ethical implications of technological design and praxis.

Term 2 – Digital Product Design & Legal Frameworks | 16 ECTS

FEBRUARY-APRIL

During the second term, students will learn about digital front-offices, channels, and sales systems, and also digital product design and user experience, whilst gaining an understanding of the risks inherent in digital business; the basic regulatory compliance necessary to develop digital business models; risk analysis; and legal compliance.

 

Cyber-security (3 ECTS)

  • Addresses issues related to e-commerce, cyber-crime, compliance, and data security. It is designed to provide an understanding of the context of cybersecurity and the major risks for international security, as well as the mechanisms for handling these risks.

Digital Innovation Monetization (4 ECTS) 

  • Focuses on understanding how to run a digital business with fast growth and scalability, and what kind of technologies are involved in this process. It aims to provide insights into monetization strategies for digital innovations, enabling students to comprehend the technologies and strategies essential for the growth and scalability of digital businesses

Digital Labs (3 ECTS)

  • A concept that offers learning-by-doing experiences. During the labs, students work in teams to solve business challenges by applying practical approaches to digital technologies and agile ways of working.

Risks, Regulations and Strategic Compliance (3 ECTS)

  • Designed to provide students with an understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects related to risk assessment and compliance strategies in the context of digital business.

Open Innovation & Software Economics (3 ECTS)

  • Aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and leverage open innovation practices and to comprehend the economic factors involved in software development and deployment

Term 3: Furthering Skills | 14 ECTS

MAY - JULY

The third term is designed for each participant to design their own path of skills and competencies they need to develop depending on their interests and career aspirations. To that end you will have to select five electives among a wide range of options.

Summer term: Digging Deeper |6 ECTS

JULY - SEPTEMBER

MASTER'S PROJECT/INTERNSHIP

The last term you will have to select a specific area of interest and invest a significant amount of hours (larger than with any of the other individual courses) to explore an issue of your choosing more in depth. 

You can choose from three different formats:

  • Business Plan, aimed at developing your understanding on entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. 
  • In-company project, based on a professional internship or collaboration with a real company.
  • Masters thesis, aimed at demonstrating your research abilities by exploring an issue in depth

You will receive full support from your tutors, regardless of the format chosen. You will also have to complete a prior preparation course.
