ESADE Executive Education Makes Global Top 10 in BusinessWeek Ranking
November 11, 2011

ESADE has made the global top 10 in the BusinessWeek ranking of executive education programmes. This biannual ranking placed ESADE Executive Education for the first time in the worldwide top 10 for both open and custom programmes.

In the open programmes category, ESADE rose six positions to take 5th place worldwide – ahead of CCL, Wharton, Stanford, Duke and IE – and 3rd place in Europe. ESADE also made the top 10 in the custom category, taking 7th place worldwide and 5th place in Europe.

ESADE was also listed in the top 25 of the biennial BusinessWeek ranking of Executive MBA (EMBA) programmes. The magazine rated ESADE’s EMBA as the 4th best in Europe and 19th best in the world.

The Director of Executive Education at ESADE, Jaume Hugas, believes that ESADE’s good showing in the ranking is due to its "carefully personalised approach" both in executive training courses and in custom programmes for companies. He highlights ESADE’s strengths in training and leadership: "Our Leadership Development Programmes aim to improve executive skills through the action learning methodology. We are pioneers in leadership training, with a 360º perspective."

To put together the EMBA ranking, BusinessWeek sent a satisfaction survey to second-year students, asking them to assess various aspects of the curriculum, the learning process and the support activities (which count toward 65% of the final ranking). BusinessWeek also surveyed the EMBA programme directors at all participating schools, asking them to rank the world’s top EMBA programmes.

In both of its executive education rankings, BusinessWeek exclusively takes into account the perception of the companies that have participated in custom programmes or have sent company representatives to participate in open programmes.
