Admission requirements

If you would like to begin the admission process for an undergraduate programme at ESADE, you must meet the following requirements:

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Applications are accepted from October to June. You must begin the process during the last academic year of secondary education before University. We recommend that you begin the admission process as early as possible because the number of places in the programmes is limited.

 

• You must be in Segundo de Bachillerato when you submit your application for admission and you must pass your examinations in June.

• Students in any type of bachillerato may apply for the Bachelor in Law or the Bachelor in Law & Bachelor in Global Governance.

• If you are applying for the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) or the BBA + Bachelor in Law, you need to have taken mathematics throughout your bachillerato studies. As a result, only students from social sciences, technology or science bachillerato courses may apply for these programmes. For IB candidates, Maths Studies are not eligible to apply to the programmes.

• You must pass the Spanish University Entrance Examination (Selectividad) in June.

• Students from the following education systems can be admitted in this way: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, European Schools, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, International Baccalaureate, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

• When you submit your application for admission, you must be in the equivalent year, in your education system, to the second year of the Spanish bachillerato – in other words, the last year of secondary education before university.

• Before starting the programme, you must satisfy the academic requirements for access to university in the education system in which you completed secondary school.

• You do not need to take the Spanish University Entrance Examination (Selectividad), provided that you meet the requirements for access to university in your education system.

• If you are applying for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or the BBA + Bachelor in Law, you need to have taken mathematics throughout your pre-university studies. For IB candidates, Maths Studies are not eligible to apply to the programmes, you need to have taken mathematics Standard Level or Higher Level. A-Levels candidates need to have taken Mathematics as one of the A-Levels subjects (please note that ESADE requires at least five GCSE subjects and at least three A-Level subjects).

• In order to gain Spanish university access, you must request a credential from the Spanish National Distance Learning University (UNED) that certifies that you have met the requirements for university access in your education system. • This access is for candidates from educational systems such as those in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Russia, India, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, etc. Bear in mind that we refer here to educational systems and not specific countries.  Please consult the complete list of affected educational systems.

• Candidates from these educational systems are required to have their secondary education studies recognised in order to be able to register at ESADE, after admission. Also, please note that this process can take approximately four months to complete. Therefore, it is essential you begin this process as soon as you have all the required documentation ready. You will not be able to register at ESADE if you do not present the voucher indicating that you have applied to have your secondary education studies recognised. More info here.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates will take an English proficiency examination as part of ESADE’s admission test. Additionally, candidates for the Bachelor in Business Administration (English section) will have to submit a certificate showing evidence of their proficiency in English (see below). Please note that independently of the language requirements, places to the Bachelor of Business Administration (English section) are granted in priority to candidates that demonstrate international experience.

• Candidates who are not native Spanish speakers who wish to enter a programme taught in Spanish must demonstrate their proficiency in this language in a personal interview.

• All undergraduate programmes at ESADE include, as part of their curriculum, instruction in a second foreign language: Mandarin Chinese, French or German. Knowledge of these languages is not required for admission.

Waiver: Minimum two years at an English speaking school. (Bear on mind that ESADE reserves the right to ask in any moment the English certificate)
