ESADE and FC BARCELONA have worked together to launch the new Executive Master in Global Sports Management, an academic programme to develop senior managers’ knowledge and skills in the fast-growing Sports Business sector. The new Master’s programme will be imparted through the Barça Innovation Hub — FC Barcelona’s platform for fostering knowledge and innovation. This will give participants the key skills and tools they need to carry out innovation strategies in the Marketing, Sponsorship, and Communication fields, among others.

The collaboration agreement has been signed today in FC Barcelona’s offices in the presence of: Òscar Grau, Executive Director of FC Barcelona; Javier Sobrino, Director for Strategy and Knowledge, FC Barcelona; Eugenia Bieto, ESADE’s Director-General; Jordi Brunat, ESADE’s Director of Executive Education.

International programme for global managers

The new Executive Master will begin in Miami in June 2018. It will last eleven months and comprise three online training periods and four presence-based modules. The latter will be imparted in Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Santiago de Chile, and Barcelona. The final module is scheduled for May 2019 and will be held in the Catalan Capital. Top partners collaborating in the programme are: Universidad de San Andrés (Argentina); Universidad de los Andes (Colombia); Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez business school (Chile); the Johan Cruyff Institute and Blanquerna (URL).

The Master is aimed at professionals working in sports federations, sports clubs, professional leagues or other organisations linked to the sports world, mainly in Spanish-speaking countries. Participants will: gain the knowledge they need to lead sports business; forge contacts with leading institutions in the academic and sporting fields; acquire a practical, cross-cutting vision of the sector. The following qualification will be awarded to participants on successful completion of the programme in Barcelona: ESADE Executive Master in Global Sports Management.
