Wisdom Pill: “Cross-cultural Management” by Prof. Dr. Daniela Noethen

“Cross-Cultural Differences” by Dr. Daniela Noethen, Academic Director of the MSc in International Management This class gives you a first-hand impression of what it means to study at ESADE and experience a student-focused, interactive learning approach. Moreover, with ESADE being such a diverse and multi-cultural learning environment, the class will give you an introduction to the meaning and importance of culture, its influence on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, in and outside of organizations. You will get a glimpse of the vast differences that exist between different cultures and how they affect management practices. Biography: Daniela Noethen holds a PhD in Business Administration (Jacobs University Bremen, Germany) as well as a Diploma in Psychology (bachelor plus master, University of Bonn, Germany), and spent a year studying Psychology at the University of British Columbia (Canada). Her research focuses on global mobility and expatriation, looking at both the management of expatriates and the expatriate experience. Studying traditional corporate expatriates sent on temporary assignments, their selection, knowledge transfer and performance, as well as other forms of expatriation and global mobility (e.g., split family expatriation or expatriates who decide to stay), she contributes to the growing knowledge base on how to manage employees and make important career and family decisions in a globalized world.

Discover Esade’s MSc in Sustainability Management and Where It Can Take You

Approaching sustainability merely as a compliance matter is short-sighted. Sustainability is fundamentally about innovation, entrepreneurship, strategic thinking, systems change, and meaningful impact. The world needs individuals who can view challenges through multiple perspectives and act as change-makers by building strong business cases for transformation. Succeeding in this field demands conviction, resilience, vision, and a deep sense of commitment. We would like to invite you to this open conversation with Marc Vilanova, new academic director of the MSc in (FOR) Sustainability Management at Esade Business School, and Claudia Castellanos, co-founder and CEO of Black Mamba Foods, an award-winning social enterprise in Eswatini producing sustainably sourced products while creating local employment and supporting conservation initiatives. Through her story, you will gain hands-on insight on how sustainability can become not just a career path, but a platform for entrepreneurship and positive impact. To clarify, this session will not focus on the programme’s logistics or operations, but rather foster an open dialogue on the current landscape and future direction of sustainability management. Thinking of applying for the September 2026 intake? It’s not too late, we still have seats available. Join us, ask your questions, and take the next step toward building a career with impact.
