How do I find analyst reports?
Eikon (available only on campus) is the best option for retreiving analyst reports (also called investment reports or research reports) for a specific company..
 
Start by clicking on “News and Research” > “Advanced Research Search” and search for the company’s name. Once you have your results, click on the PDF icon of the report you want to read. A new dialog box will open. Press “View” and the analyst report will open in PDF.

I'm looking for data related to Mergers & Acquisitions
In Eikon you find data related to company transactions worldwide. Enter company name in the box on the top left and navigate to “Events” > “Transactions”. With Eikon Excel you have the possibility to get a general overview by using the “Screener” located on the “Thomson Reuters” tab (only available from the computers with the Eikon license).
 
SDC Platinum contains data on different types of deals and historical data as well.
 
Inside Marketline’s “Financial Deals Tracker” section you can also get data on M&A, private equity deals, venture finance deals, and private placement transactions, IPOs, and partnerships across various industries.

Where can I find information about futures, options and commodities?
Bloomberg provides access to real-time prices of raw materials and commodities around the world, plus information about futures and options. 
 
Eikon provides this information too, and also enables time series to be viewed and exported in Excel.

I need information about bonds
The Bloomberg system is a good place to start looking for news and figures about the global bond market. For corporate bonds click on CORP key, and for government bonds, click on GOVT key.

Where can I find companies' financial results?
If you’re interested in the results of Spanish or Portuguese companies, SABI offers the annual results and ratios of more than 1,300,000 companies stretching back ten years.
 
If you’re interested in European companies, visit Amadeus for the balances and P&L statements of public and private European companies dating back 10 years.
 
If you’re interested in American companies, visit Orbis Americas for the balances and P&L statements of public and private American companies dating back 10 years.

Where can I find a company's beta?
Bloomberg provides real-time betas and time series. Search by company name, EQUITY key and select Risk / Volatility Analysis. 
 
Eikon provides time series of company betas.

I am looking for information about the finance sector
Search Marketline Advantage database > Industry > Financial Services for company reports and market surveys of the financial services sector by countries.
 
Search Passport > Industry > Consumer Finance for statistics and surveys on consumer finance by country.

Where can I read the financial press?
Factiva lets you search the financial press of the country you are interested in, and read the day’s headlines and articles in full.
  • Use the Source dropdown menu to search for news in a specific newspaper.
     
  • To read the day’s headlines, go to News Pages and select the country of interest.
 
You will also have full access to the Financial Times Online, once you register as an ESADE member.
