Biography

Martina Pocchiari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at Esade.

She has extensive teaching and public speaking experience in the field of marketing, with a focus on digital marketing.

She has taught courses in Digital Marketing at the National University of Singapore and assisted with teaching courses in Marketing Analytics, Causal Inference and Experimentation, and Marketing at various levels at Erasmus University.

She also held guest lectures and workshops on digital marketing at leading international institutions such as Tilburg University and Peking University, where she taught about using online brand communities to reach marketing goals, and leveraging user-generated content for marketing research and business insights.

Martina Pocchiari holds a PhD in Empirical Quantitative Marketing from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Netherlands. Prior to joining Esade, she was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore Singapore.

Her academic research focuses on topics in marketing, social networks, and digitization.

She specializes in using novel, large datasets to answer causal questions and employs methods from causal inference, machine learning, generative artificial intelligence, and experimental economics.

The research projects based on her dissertation won the 2023 Mary Kay Dissertation Award from the Academy of Marketing Science and the 2023 Thesis Competition Award from the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management & Business Administration.
