Abstract

This research investigates fashion supply chains consisting of global brands and Italian suppliers over four tiers. We aim to explore the effect of Covid-19 on SME suppliers across different tiers of the supply chain. The research identifies internal and external response mechanisms at the brand and supplier levels while revealing tensions and opportunities that emerge between supply chain actors. Finally, it shows how sustainable purchasing and supply practices can help to build more resilient and responsible fashion supply chains. During the presentation, I will also provide a quick snapshot of the overall project of which this paper is part of.
