Langan, Robert Hugh

Robert Langan is an Assistant Professor of People Management and Organization at ESADE. He was formerly an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University. Prior to this, he worked as a Vice President in the corporate governance team at Credit Suisse Group in Zurich before, during, and following the forced merger with UBS. Prior to that, he worked in CEO & CHRO Advisory at Spencer Stuart in Geneva. He has also worked as an independent consultant, advising several organizations in Canada and Europe on a variety of topics. He began his career in tennis, working as Head Tennis Professional at the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club and later as a Manager of Development for Tennis Canada.

Prof. Langan earned an MBA from EDHEC Business School in 2015, a Masters in Research from IE Business School in 2017, and a Ph.D. in Business Studies from IE Business School in 2019. After obtaining his Ph.D., he worked as Head of Research of the Centre for Corporate Governance at the University of Geneva from 2020 to 2022. 

Prof. Langan has taught EMBA, MBA, Masters and Bachelors level courses in several European business schools, including EDHEC Business School, Bologna Business School, EHL Hospitality Business School, the University of Geneva, and the University of Coimbra. His research focuses on Strategic Leadership and has been published in several outlets including Organization Science, Journal of Management, and the Harvard Business Review.
