Biography
Cristina is a Full Professor in Operations Management and Director of Identity and
Mission at Esade. Over the course of her career, she has taught courses in the areas
of operations and supply chain management, has held various leadership and executive
positions and served both in Esade and in international boards and advisory boards
of different business schools and higher education associations. As Director of Identity
and Mission at Esade, she promotes transversal projects across the school with the
aim to make the mission be more shared and lived by the community. She participates
in the design of recruitment policies, the promotion of faculty, the development of
programs and curricular reviews, investment decisions, etc. One of the most important
projects she has led has been the design and implementation of Esade's first sustainability
plan, engaging stakeholders to ensure alignment with their expectations.As a researcher,
her areas of interest are sustainable operations and supply chains. On these subjects
she has published more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Cristina's remarkable
achievements have earned her a place on Stanford University’s 'Top 2% Scientists Worldwide
2023' list, recognizing her substantial contributions to the realms of science and
academia. Cristina has always been involved in international networks and boards.
In July 2022 she was elected President of EurOMA-European Operations Management Association,
board in which she served from 2011 to 2017. She also serves in the advisory boards
of two Business Schools Catolica Porto Business School since 2022 and Politecnico
di Milano School of Management since 2021 and in the Board of Trustees of an NGO Fundació
Carles Blanch since May 2023. She has also been Co-editor in Chief of the International
Journal of Operations and Production Management, one of the leading journals in her
field 2018 –2021.As a person committed with the transformation of higher education,
she joined the task force “An Inspirational Paradigm for Jesuit Business Education”
created by the IAJU International Association of Jesuit Universities in 2019 and since
September 2022 she is Co-chairing this task force with Joseph Phillips, Dean of Albers
School of Business and Economics Seattle University. This initiative provides a platform
for collaboration that will drive transformational change in business education and
has already funded more than 30 projects across 11 disciplines in 9 countries on 4
continents.
