Impact on Entrepreneurship

Professor George Chondrakis, Professor at Esade and Director of the EEI

"Entrepreneurship is a key component of all the programs at Esade. And of course, the reason is not to have everyone become an entrepreneur. What we argue is that the skills they learn at Esade equip them to become very good managers or very good founders. And we see that happening in practice with large corporations trying to become and replicate the flexibility and agility of the start-up world."

Our achievements and milestones:

Teaching

'The major feature here is that students experience the best practices and best knowledge on the process of how to create what we call high-profit and high-impact startups'

Xavier Mendoza, Director General at Esade, and Associate Professor, Department of Strategy and General Management at Esade

Research

'Entrepreneurship is to a certain extent an art, but I think that it's important to emphasize that there is some science behind it. The good thing is that at the institute we study the pros of entrepreneurship very carefully to identify the best practices and the different configurations for start-ups that will allow them to become more successful and increase their chances for survival'

George Chondrakis, Director of the EEI and Associate Professor, Department of Strategy and General Management at Esade

Support for entrepreneurs

'Our ecosystem is very broad and diverse, we have our talented students, we have faculty that does cutting edge research and we also have forged a very strong relationship with different players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem such as entrepreneurial supporting structures, venture funds, and public agencies. This enables us to provide a unique and very exciting experience to people who take part in our programs'

Davide Rovera, Manager of Esade eWorks

Our main initiatives and projects

The EEI is committed to promoting the potential of ideas and projects that will create knowledge and impact on society. That is why, during the past 30 years, the EEI has hosted several initiatives that research a variety of topics in the fields of entrepreneurship and strategy: family business, entrepreneurship scale-up, and social entrepreneurship (a new Esade Institute since 2023). At the EEI, we also have a business creation support program that encourages and supports the creation of companies by Esade students and alumni.
