Biografía
La Prof. Valentina De Marchi tiene un doctorado en Economía y Gestión por la Universidad de Padua Italia y un máster en Economía y Gestión de Redes por la Universidad Ca' Foscari de Venecia. Antes de incorporarse a ESADE en 2022, fue profesora asociada en la Universidad de Padua Italia.
Ha sido investigadora visitante en el Center on Globalization, Governance & Competitiveness de la Universidad de Duke EE. UU.; en el Departamento de Innovación y Economía Organizacional de Copenhagen Business School Dinamarca; en el Departamento de Administración de Empresas y Marketing de la Universitat Jaume I España; en el Center for Frugal Innovation in Africa de la Universidad Erasmus Países Bajos; y en el Global Development Institute de la Universidad de Mánchester Reino Unido.
Está interesada en comprender cómo las empresas pueden desarrollar innovaciones medioambientales en el contexto de las cadenas globales de valor y de los negocios internacionales. Ha llevado a cabo investigaciones sobre economía circular y tecnologías digitales 4.0, sobre las tensiones y paradojas que surgen al desarrollar innovaciones medioambientales, y sobre el desarrollo local y las prácticas de sostenibilidad, especialmente en el contexto de las pymes dentro de los distritos industriales. Es autora o coautora de más de 66 artículos indexados en Scopus publicados en revistas como Research Policy, Business Strategy & the Environment, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Production Economics y Economic Geography.
Ha sido editora de números especiales en revistas como California Management Review, Journal of International Business Studies y Journal of International Business Policy, y coeditora del libro Local Clusters in Global Value Chains: Linking Actors and Territories Through Manufacturing and Innovation Routledge. Es Reviewing & Deputy Editor del Journal of International Business Policy CABS:3 y forma parte de los consejos editoriales de Organization & Environment y Journal of International Business Studies.
Es una ciudadana activa dentro de las comunidades académicas: ha sido representante nacional en la European International Business Academy EIBA 2018-2024, presidenta del Group for Research on Organizations and the Natural Environment GRONEN 2020-2022 y miembro del comité organizador de la red SASE Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics 2018-2023.
Le apasiona generar impacto y fomentar el vínculo con la sociedad: ha sido ponente en TedX, colabora habitualmente en eventos dirigidos a responsables políticos o al sector empresarial y ha participado en diversos proyectos de investigación nacionales e internacionales.
Antes de incorporarse a Esade en 2022, era profesora titular de la Universidad de Padua. Ha sido profesora visitante del Center on Globalization, Governance & Competitiveness de la Universidad de Duke Estados Unidos, del Departamento de Innovación y Economía de la Organización de la Copenhagen Business School Dinamarca, del Departamento de Administración de Empresas y Marketing de la Universitat Jaume I España y del Center for Frugal Innovation in Africa de la Universidad Erasmus de Rotterdam Países Bajos.
Se interesa por entender cómo las empresas pueden desarrollar innovaciones medioambientales en el contexto de las cadenas de valor globales y de los negocios internacionales. Ha investigado en economía circular y tecnologías digitales 4.0, en las tensiones y las paradojas de las innovaciones medioambientales, en el desarrollo local y en las prácticas de sostenibilidad, especialmente en el contexto de las pymes en distritos industriales.
Es autora o coautora de más de 54 artículos en Scopus, publicados en revistas como Research Policy, Business Strategy & the Environment, el Journal of Business Ethics, el International Journal of Production Economics y Economic Geography. Ha publicado números especiales en revistas como la California Management Review y coeditado el libro Local Clusters in Global Value Chains: Linking Actors and Territories Through Manufacturing and Innovation. Es editora adjunta del Journal of Industrial and Business Economics y miembro de los consejos editoriales de Organization & Environment y del Journal of International Business Studies y, desde 2023, es subdirectora del Journal of International Business Policy.
