Palit, Shubhobrata

Shubhobrata Palit is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences. Before joining ESADE, he taught courses on quantitative and statistical techniques organizations use in their decision-making processes at Scheller College of Business Georgia Institute of Technology, where he worked on his PhD in Operations Management. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. He has also worked as a software engineer in the Tech industry in India and the US.His research interests are economics of innovation in the context of buyer-supplier relationships, technological knowledge exchange between firms, and global supply networks. He utilizes analytics tools, on large-scale observational data, involving applied statistics, econometrics and causal inference in his research to reveal interesting business implications.He has presented his work at a number of prestigious conferences and research workshops such as INFORMS Annual Meeting, POMS Annual Conference, Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Kellogg-Wharton OM Workshop, DSI Annual Conference and Journal of Product Innovation Management JPIM Virtual Research Forum. His work has also been selected as a Finalist of the Operations and Supply Chain Management Division Best Student Paper Award at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2020. His PhD Dissertation has been recognized as Finalists of the INFORMS TIMES Best Dissertation Award and the Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Award. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Operations Management.
