Biography
Matteo Avogaro holds a PhD in Labour Law, obtained in February 2019 at the University of Milan with a thesis about 'Collective bargaining and representativeness of social partners in private sector: a comparative analysis with the French legal framework'. Furthermore, he hold a master's degree in Law University of Trento, 2011 and a postgraduate degree in Labour Law University of Venice, 2015. During his researcher career he has been visiting PhD student at the University of Paris Nanterre and he collaborated, in 2019-2020, with the EU Agency Eurofound. Matteo is currently postdoctoral researcher in the Horizon2020 project Equal4Europe, finalized to develop and implement Gender Equality Standards for AHMSSBL Art, Humanities, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business & management and Law institutions throughout Europe. The project is finalized to promote equal economic independence for women and men, also through solutions fostering the closure of the gender pay gap and advancing gender balance in decision-making in research institutions. Other Matteo's research interests encompass the evolution of industrial relations and collective bargaining in the context of Industry 4.0, work-life balance and right to disconnect, and new juridical solutions to enhance working conditions of platform workers and self-employed in the digitalized era. During his career, Matteo participated as a speaker in national and international conferences. In 2018 he won the Marco Biagi Award, granted by the International Association of Labour Law Journals with a paper entitled 'New perspectives for workers' organizations in a changing technological and societal environment'. From 2020 he has been accepted as member of the German Industrial Relations Association.
