Biography
Daniel Traça is currently Director General at Esade Barcelona & Madrid, Visiting Professor at INSEAD, Singapore, and Non-Executive Board Member at Santander Totta, Lisbon.
He was Dean of Nova School of Business and Economics from April 2015 to January 2023, and Deputy Dean from September 2012 to April 2015. During this period, the school lived noteworthy achievements, incluiding the construction of a new campus in Carcavelos, exponential growth in the number and internationalization of MSc students, and strong and steady improvement in key rankings.
Daniel was assistant professor at INSEAD, in Fontainebleau and Singapore, held the Marie et Alain Philipson Chair in Managing for Sustainable Human Development at the Solvay Brussels School and was full professor at Nova School of Business and Economics. His teaching and research focus on the nexus of business strategy and public policies in a global context, and he has published articles in key international academic journals. He has worked with the World Bank and the European Commission and has been a non-executive board member in several banks.
Daniel Traça obtained a PhD in Economics at Columbia University, New York, and a BSc in Economics at NOVA School of Business and Economics, Lisbon.
