The Hub B30 platform was created just over a year ago and consists of research, development, and innovation organisations active in the B30 area of Catalonia (an area of 23 towns and cities near the section of the AP-7 motorway known as the B-30). The hub brings together new organisations that can jointly provide innovative answers based on multidisciplinary and multisectoral interaction, cooperation, and co-creation.

ESADECREAPOLIS is a centre of innovation and entrepreneurship on the ESADE Sant Cugat campus, and will contribute its ability to inspire, facilitate, and accelerate innovation in companies. It will also identify opportunities in the market, and make links with local businesses and the knowledge and skills of ESADE Business School.

The rector of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Margarita Arboix ; the vice-rector of innovation and strategic projects of the UAB and director of the UAB Research Park, Javier Lafuente; the corporate and operations director general of Eurecat Technology Centre of Catalonia, Xavier López; and the president of the B30 Area Association, Josep Monràs , signed an agreement with the director of ESADECREAPOLIS , Oriol Alcoba, and the director of ALBA Synchrotron, Caterina Biscari, to incorporate these two organisations into the Hub B30 platform.

The new members expressed their satisfaction at working together with other members of Hub B30 to solve the innovation needs and challenges of organisations and companies.

Synchrotron ALBA offers academic and industrial members access to synchrotron beamline equipment that enables visualising the atomic and molecular structure of materials and studying their properties.

Through this agreement, all the members of Hub B30 have agreed to develop and widen their projects and activities in the field of innovation, as well as encouraging discussion and the exchange of innovation experiences within the B-30 hub region. Since its creation in 2018, hub members have organised a total of ten meetings on innovation in sectors such as food, mobility, bioindustry, and big data. More than 650 people have taken part in these meetings from businesses, research centres, hospitals, and the public administration.
