Leadership Moments
The ‘Leadership Moments’ programme, is promoted by Esade’s Center for LeadershipS and Sustainability and sponsored by NTT-DATA. It is a forum for reflection on leadership and is made possible by its renowned guest speakers. They talk about their personal experience of leadership. Through them, the programme passes on knowledge and fosters reflection (whether individual or shared) on the practice of leadership and on new management paradigms.
Each of these sessions features a guest speaker with a long track-record of successful management in business, political, social, and cultural sectors. The talks center on their professional and life experience at a critical point in time. Each speaker explains the leadership skills he or she applied, thus facilitating analysis and reflection on how managers deal with real-life problems.
Who are catered to?
The talks are aimed at those with senior management responsibilities and who are drawn from diverse spheres, including: private companies; public administration; academe; the non-profit sector. Their purpose is to reflect on and discuss the leadership experience described by the speaker. This process is enhanced by the trust and collaboration engendered by a select group of participants holding senior posts. The result is a laid-back atmosphere that nurtures networking and the forging of strategic alliances.
Format
Gatherings in the ‘Leadership Moments’ programme are held in the evening on Esade’s campuses in Barcelona and Madrid. The exclusive nature of the event (attendance is by personal invitation only) is underlined by the small, select groups of senior managers taking part.
The sessions take the form of a talk and dinner. They begin with a talk by the guest speaker that lasts roughly three quarters of an hour. This is followed by cocktails, providing a golden opportunity for attendees to network among their peers. The talk is then discussed over dinner. The session is rounded off by dialogue with all attendees to cover specific aspects of the talk.
Programme history
The Esade Center for LeadershipS and Sustainability, with NTT-DATA’s support, has held this highly popular, high-powered programme for several years.
The trajectory of the cycle began in 2006 in Barcelona with the first session starring Josep Oliu, followed by about twenty protagonists such as Artur Mas, Miquel Roca i Junyent, Salvador Alemany, or Helena Guardans, In 2016 the program opens in Madrid, where so far we have had speakers like Dolores Dancausa, Francisco Reynés or Josu Jon Imaz.
