But <strong>in Spain there is still plenty of room to extend their use<\/strong>: the country currently ranks 24th in the EU27 by the weight of green taxes in GDP, and 21st in revenue.<\/p>\n<p>The transport sector is of particular concern, with a greenhouse gas emissions reduction target that should be around 28%. Current levels of taxation and, above all, its design are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>insufficient to achieve this or other objectives<\/strong> within the framework of the Paris Agreement<\/li>\n<li><strong>unable to internalise the significant negative externalities associated with road transport<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>and maintain an <strong>incoherent structure<\/strong>, with differences between fuels that run counter to the environmental damage caused, and to the goals of some parts of the Government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Los impuestos ambientales son clave para la descarbonizaci\u00f3n de cualquier econom\u00eda debido a sus ventajas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":4485,"template":"","acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.9 -
