Managing Alliances and Partnerships
  • This course introduces a reflection method and a set of instruments for analysing and implementing any type of alliance or partnership.

    The alliance process is divided into seven steps:

    - Why?: Strategic objectives and goals.
    - How?: Type of alliance (joint venture, partnership, temporary alliance, merger, acquisition.
    - Which partner?: Selection criteria (market, culture, finance, human capital, etc.).
    - How much?: Cost-benefit, value creation.
    - What to do?: Human resources, systems, marketing, operations, etc.
    - When?: Planning, calendar, key issues.
    - How can the results of an alliance be evaluated?

    The interactive method presented in this course is based on workshops and business simulations, with students selecting real-life examples from the business world in several countries.

    Each workshop will be followed by group presentations and discussions.
    This course has a total of 30 hours of class time. Readings and case studies will be provided.
