Advanced Research Seminars. October - June

. A set of seminars oriented towards advanced research in specific fields.
. Monitoring and interaction sessions in which students are assigned to research groups, research chairs, or research institutes.
. PhD candidates must enroll and participate in at least one of the seminars.

Requirements for continuing in the PhD in Management Sciences

End of the 1^st Academic Year

Submission of a Research proposal (approved and signed) by the PhD supervisor. PhD research proposal guidelines.

End of the 2^nd Academic Year (and next)

Submission of a Follow up file (approved and signed) by the PhD supervisor.



The research proposal and the follow up file are assessed by a monitoring committee formed by two professors or researchers on the corresponding area.

All documents have to be submitted to the PhD Commission, which guarantees and maintains the quality of the PhD thesis and the PhD program.

In addition, the Direction of the PhD in Management Sciences holds annually meetings with the PhD candidates and PhD representatives.

Any incidence or requirement concerning the candidate’s evolution or the PhD program is analyzed and solved in the PhD commission.

Requirements for depositing and defending the PhD thesis

The documents that must be submitted to the ESADE doctoral commission are:

1.     PhD candidate form.

2.     Printed copy of the thesis (it can be either a monograph or a compendium of publications).

3.     An abstract of the thesis in three languages English, Spanish and Catalan.

4.     Authorization of the head of the Official Academic Department.

5.     The PhD thesis committee composition proposed by the thesis supervisor (3 members and 2 substitutes).

6.     Specific regulations for those PhD candidates who want to apply for the Mention of European doctor.

Finally, those documents are submitted to the University Ramon Llull, where the Doctoral Commission will have to give its approval on the doctoral thesis for its defence.
