Key Focus Areas

Social responsibility is one of our core missions at ESADE. We are committed to training individuals who are aware of their responsibilities as citizens and professionals, and who can make a significant contribution in their careers to meet society’s demands.

As an institution, we strive to be increasingly socially responsible and sustainable in all of our activities.

ESADE is a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact and a supporter of the Principles for Responsible Management Education, a global network of universities and business schools dedicated to integrating social responsibility, ethic and sustainability in education.

We have also joined the United Nations Higher Education Sustainability Imitative for Rio+20.

Our on-going commitment towards social responsibility, both in the classroom and as an institution, has been recognised in the form of several accreditations and rankings.

Our challenge is, and will continue to be, training socially responsible leaders, carrying out rigorous research to create relevant knowledge in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR), promoting social debate on CSR issues, and developing social actions dedicated to improving the lives of people in need.

Entrepreneurship is rooted in ESADE’s DNA. It is one of our main pillars, both in and out of the classroom. Our dedication to entrepreneurship can be seen in initiatives such as: ESADE’s EGarage to support our entrepreneurial students; the business angels network ESADEBAN run by Alumni Entrepreneurship; our Momentum Project to support social entrepreneurs; the ongoing series of entrepreneurial events such as the High Growth Companies Forum, the Venture Capital Forum, Last Thursdays and Start Up Spain.

Many of our alumni have decided to make entrepreneurship their career path. From around the world they are contributing towards creating a more developed and socially just society through projects on social entrepreneurship and through startups targeting a wide variety of areas such as sustainability, new technologies, science, finances, digital marketing and youth entrepreneurship, among others.

In 1992, we founded the ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI) to support our students in launching new businesses and further research on entrepreneurship. The EEI plays a key role in promoting entrepreneurship among our students, as it participates transversally in our Executive Education and MBA programmes as well as in our undergraduate courses, contributing to discussions on entrepreneurship, family businesses, growth and internationalisation strategies.

Innovation is the aspiration to transform the status quo – to develop new ideas that have an impact and help to improve our world. Innovation guarantees that knowledge creation is not simply a closed academic exercise, but rather one focused on change and transformation.

Over the last few years, ESADE’s innovative capacity has been demonstrated in a number of ways. We have created innovative programmes in collaboration with other institutions around the world.

We have helped to build European networks of excellence, such as the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

We have engaged in cutting-edge research on innovation at the global level. And we have opened ESADECREAPOLIS, a business park dedicated to open and cross innovation.

Research and innovation are not new for ESADE – they are the central features of our culture and the core of our identity.

Reinforcing innovation is one of our strategic core values because we strongly believe in training new entrepreneurs capable of implementing innovative and sustainable business models.

At ESADE, we tackle globalisation through continuous attention to our programmes and students. Globalisation is one of our core missions because, to succeed today, leaders must be global and open to the world. This commitment to internationalisation has been part of our vision, values and strategy for over three decades.

The international dimension is present in all aspects of ESADE's academic and institutional life. It is rooted in our educational programmes, our students, our faculty, our research, in our alumni, and our relations with companies and international academic partners across the globe.

We have campuses in Barcelona, Madrid and Buenos Aires, Global Centers in São Paulo and Munich, and close ties with top schools in the United States.

We are therefore able to play a privileged role in linking three of the world's major regions: Europe, Latin America and the United States.

In the last few years, we have also signed collaboration agreements with major business schools in India, China, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore.

With a network that extends to nearly 100 countries and international chapters in 32 countries around the globe, ESADE Alumni reinforces and complements ESADE's global presence.
