Our contribution to EGOS 2008 in Amsterdam has been the following: Elena Bou and Alfons Sauquet presented a paper on "Clusters, entrepreneurs and knowledge sharing: the Priorat Case Study". Additionally, Henning Dröge and Elena Bou contributed to EGOS 2008 with the paper "The exploration & exploitation dilemma revisited: how does it apply to innovation in professional service firms?". In addition, Henry Lopez participated in the EGOS PhD pre-colloquium Workshop.
Our contribution to the SERVSIG International Research Conference at the University of Liverpool in the UK has been to present a literature review on Service Innovation and New Service Development. It has been written by Henning Droege, Dagmar Hildebrand and Miguel A. Heras. For this paper the authors were awarded with the "Christopher Lovelock Prize" for the best conference paper.
Eduard Bonet, Elena Bou, and Alfons Sauquet presented at the EURAM 2008 in Ljubliana, Slovenia the paper with the title "Reflexions on the concept of knowing: From classical epistemology to acts of knowing".
Our contribution to the OLKC 2008 in Denmark has been the following. (1) Elena Bou, Alfons Sauquet, and Eduard Bonet presented the paper "Talking about practice: An ethnographic practice-based study of job placement practitioners". (2) Eduard Bonet contributed to OLKC with the paper "Experimental learning: Alfred Schütz should be there". In addition, (3) Dagmar Hildebrand, Jordi Trullen, and Alfons Sauquet presented a paper on ambidexterity in NPD-teams.
Jordi Hereu, Mayor of Barcelona and ESADE alumnus, delivered this year's inaugural address. During the event, Carlos Losada, Director General of ESADE, also gave a speech and Eduard Bonet and Lluis M. Pugès were named Honorary Professors of the Departments of Quantitative Methods Management and of Business Policy, respectively.
In the Plenary Session held on 27th November, 2006, the Institute's President awarded Dr. Eduard Bonet the medal in recognition of being appointed Emeritus Member.The Institut d’Estudis Catalans is the most prestigious Academy of the Catalan Language, Science and Humanities in Catalonia.
On September 17th 2006, at the University of Lleida (Catalonia), Dr. Eduard Bonet of ESADE-URL and member of GRACO, received the "Jaume Vicens Vives" Award for Excellence in Teaching. With this prize, the Catalan Autonomous Government has recognised the professional career of Eduard Bonet in the field of educational innovation, as well as his dedication to the creation of the PhD in Management Sciences.
Alfons Sauquet has been nominated member of the Editorial Board of Human Resource Development Review (Sage Publications). This prestigious journal publishes articles that make theoretical contributions in papers devoted to theory development, foundations of HRD, theory building methods, and integrative reviews of the literature.

This prestigious journal addresses fundamental issues in management and organizational learning and looks for advancing theory and practice through publication of creative enquiry.
Dr. Pamela Haunschild, Jack R. Crosby Regents Chair in Business and Chair of the Management Department at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin, visited our group in order to present her paper on "The Liability of Good Reputation".
Prof. Dr. Marie-Léandre Gomez (ESSEC Business School, Cergy, France) visited our GRACO research group to present her paper on "The emergence of a spreading practice: food for thought".
GRACO has recently organized the Conference on Rhetoric and Narratives in Management Research (RNMR) at ESADE (URL). It took place from May 11-13, 2006 and it aimed at improving the understanding of the rhetorical and narrative functions in management and management research. The 2nd Conference o RNMR will take place on May 2007.
The Summer Workshop organized by EGOS on 15-16 June 2006 at Mykonos, Greece, focused on the relevant issues of practice and practice-based studies. The next workshop will take place on June 7 - 8 2007 at Crete, Greece and will be called "Organisation Studies as Applied Science: The Generation and Use of Academic Knowledge about Organizations"
