Call for Contributions
  • The submission for all contributions has been set on 21 May 2007 and is closed now. We would like to thank to all contributors for their effort and interest!

We remain at an early stage in our understanding of the opportunities for business that global governance can create, as well as the impact of related frameworks and approaches on corporate strategy and management. The attached Call for Contributions is therefore intended to deliver insight, learning and understanding around the practical implications for business of global governance in the context of such pressing issues as:

    > The balance between standards, competition and regulation
    > Climate change
    > Energy security
    > Human rights
    > Inequality

Through this Call, we seek to examine the impact on business in society at the following three levels:

    - The Global, Supranational, International & Industry Sector Level
    - The National, Sub-National, Local/Regional and City Level
    - Company and Individual Manager/Executive Level

Linking together these three levels of analysis and reflection, the EABIS Colloquium will raise key questions around:
    > What is the role of business in global governance?

    > How can and should business contribute individually and collectively through global governance to addressing problems such as Climate Change, Poverty Alleviation and respect for Human Rights as well as contributing tothe achievement of the Millennium Development Goals?

    > What is the role of regulation, self-regulation and volunteerism?

    > What is the impact of changes in global governance for companies?

    > What is the impact of these changes in global governance for stakeholders and society?

    > What is the impact of changes in global governance on the leadership qualities and management competencies of future business leaders and what does this imply for management development and education in companies, business schools and universities?
