Tourism has become the biggest industry in the world economy. Tourism companies operate in a fast-moving and increasingly competitive, global business setting in which the right decisions need to be taken fast. This requires solid research in all fields of management.
 
Our objective is to generate knowledge on the sustainable management of tourism companies, favouring interchange between all participating agents and mainly directed at innovation and internationalisation. Given the economic importance of tourism, research and innovation are increasingly essential for maintaining and improving the sector's compteititveness.

Our research priorities are the use of IT systems, the economic impact on society and within the territory, societal marketing, innovation and quality management and management indicators, always doing our best to use innovative research methodologies.

Officially recognised as an emerging group by the Government of Catalonia’s Department of Innovation, Universities and enterprise (2009).
