PEP GÓMEZ, 2012 EDITION WINNER
  
Pep Gomez, 19-year-old entrepreneur is the youngest candidate of this year and the winner of the award. When he was 14 years old he created his first company, Mewid, a tool for the microblogging service. This project was followed by other ideas like Generación.net and Redondea focused on the music scene and on professionals who wanted to organize their own tour. This and other initiatives, such as his participation in the "Campus Party", did not take long to be detected by Bernardo Hernandez, founder of companies such as Tuenti, Idealista.com and current Products Director of Google, who offered Pep to go to the cradle of technology and innovation, Silicon Valley. Today he wants to improve his training and to expand his latest creation, Fever Inc..
 
The other 4 finalists were:
Judit Milà and Jordi Torras: as the other finalists, they created their company, U-Play games, when they were very young. Among their clients are the PRISA Group, NBA, FCBarcelona, Caja Navarra and Planeta, among others.
  
Joan Arús: when he was 20 years old, he created his first company,  Comompocos SCP , specializing in the sale of exclusive products by Internet. The positive experience and his concern led him to undertake further develop his project from the UK, with the help of his partner in Australia. In China they finish making the final product.
 
David Reche: his passion for technology led him to found, when he was 16 years old, his first company, Binred, an Internet portal. The success of this initiative was recognized with an award that encouraged him to develop certain ideas as mundodelcafé.com and capsulandia.com, now a reference page on the merchant's on-line coffee.

2nd INSPIRING YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS 2012 NATIONAL COMPETITION

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute has launched the second edition of the grants for young entrepreneurs with Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs, a competition aimed at talented young entrepreneurs aged under 30 that have set up and launched a business, but have not had the opportunity to complete their management training.

The second edition will award the young professional with the most entrepreneurial career a complete grant, valued at €16,000, to take part in one of most prestigious ESADE Executive Education programmes: the Programme for Owner Managers.
 
The aim of the competition is to enable young entrepreneurs who gave up studying or never started, or that have studied a technological career or one in an area other than business management and administration, to be able to complement their training with specific management and leadership subjects.
    
Timing:

  • Friday 10th February 2012: final date for submission of applications from candidates with CV and career as entrepreneurs report, by mail to eei@esade.edu.
  • Friday  17th February 2012: e-mail communication to the 5 finalists who will face interviews.
  • Thursday 1st March 2012: interviews with the candidates. At the end of the interviews, the jury will deliberate and report its final verdict.
  • Friday 16th March 2012: final verdict.
  • Friday March 16, 2012: Start of Programme for Owner Managers.

I Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs 2011 National Competition

I EDITION 2011 WINNERS
 
The first-place winner, computer engineer Alicia Asín Pérez, was recognised for her entrepreneurial career as the founder of Libelium, a company that designs wireless sensors for all sorts of environments. Libelium's sales have multiplied eighteen-fold since it was founded in 2006 – it closed 2010 with a turnover of 800,000 euros – and the company is currently planning to expand throughout Asia-Pacific, Europe, Canada and the United States.
  
The runners-up were Pedro Moreo, PhD in industrial engineering and founder of the high-tech regenerative-medicine spinoff EBERS Medical Technology, and Joel Vicient, a computer engineer specialised in management applications who created Ongest, an innovative online billing system.
  
Under the direction of Mr. Moreo, EBERS Medical Technology has managed, since it was founded in 2009, to position itself internationally in the development of regenerative-medicine solutions, while receiving multiple awards for its high degree of innovation. Ongest, the company founded in 2009 by Mr. Vicient, has in less than two years secured 1.4 million euros in investments for its innovative online billing application.

I INSPIRING YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS NATIONAL COMPETITION 2011
  
The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute launches the first edition of this competition for talented entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who have already set themselves up in business, but who have not had the opportunity to complete their formal education. ESADE gives them the chance to train in management at one of the world's most prestigious institutions. 
 
The most entrepreneurial under-30 will be awarded a scholarship to participate in one of the top programmes at ESADE Executive Education: the Owners Directors Programme (delivered in Spanish)

First scholarship awarded in 2010

The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute was awarded a scholarship to Pau Garcia-Mila for his entrepreneurial career as co-founder of EyeOS. Pau, despite having no training in the area of ​​business management, developed a hight growth business project.
   
The grant consisted of participation in the program of ESADE Executive Education "Owners Directors Program" during the 2009-2010 academic year.
