Trajectòria professional
Professor del Departament de Direcció de Recursos Humans i director de Recerca de l'Institut d'Estudis Laborals (IEL) d'ESADE. Ha estat professor visitant/becari principalment en programes MBA i de Doctorat a les universitats de Boston, Northeastern, Minnesota i Colorado; Tel Aviv; de McGill, Concordia i St Mary's; Remini University de Beijing; Universität Wien, ESSEC-Paris, Université de Toulouse, Universidad de Cádiz, Universidad Pablo de Olavide i Universitat Pompeu Fabra; Universitat Federal de Rio (Brasil) i ITESM (Mèxic).

Els seus interessos de recerca inclouen la direcció de recursos humans, la psicologia laboral i de les organitzacions i l'estrès ocupacional, camps sobre els quals ha escrit àmpliament.

Ha publicat nombrosos llibres i articles, entre els quals cal destacar 'La dirección por valores' i 'Los 10 mandamientos para la dirección de personas', dels més venuts els darrers anys, així com 'Dirección de recursos humanos', que s'utilitza també a la Xina.

És referee dels journals 'Personnel Psychology', 'Academy of Management Journal/Review', 'Journal of Organizational Behavior'. Ha format part del comitè editorial de les revistes científiques internacionals 'International Journal of Cross Cultural Management' i 'Human Resource Planning', entre d'altres.

És president de la seva pròpia firma de consultoria en direcció de recursos humans, amb seu a Mont-real (Gestion MDS Management Inc.) i proporciona serveis en moltes qüestions relacionades amb la gestió dels recursos humans arreu del món. Des de 1990, també codirigeix un centre per a l'estudi del control i l'avaluació de la gestió de recursos humans.

Prèviament, fou professor numerari de Direcció de Recursos Humans i Comportament Organitzatiu a l'Escola de Relacions Laborals de la Universitat de Mont-real. Va ser nomenat director d'un centre de recerca multidisciplinària sobre estrès i salut laboral.Ha estat president i cofundador de la International Society for the Study of Work and Organizational.
