François ha treballat en xarxes socials i en mobilitat entre organitzacions. Actualment, investiga la relació entre les xarxes socials interorganitzatives i la demografia de les aventures empresarials.
En la seva tesi doctoral, ha estudiat com el fet de fixar-se en la categoria a l'hora de seleccionar els partners d'una aliança varia segons els atributs del cercador en el sector del software global.
També ha investigat el concepte d'acció intuïtiva o habitual, confrontada amb els plantejaments de dos teòrics importants: Herbert Alexander Simon en ciències econòmiques i psicologia cognitiva, i Pierre Bourdieu en sociologia.
