Empowering the Entrepreneur in You!

With several new businesses being launched by graduating students annually, ESADE Business School is proud of its long and successful heritage in Entrepreneurship. Integrated into the core curriculum, our Entrepreneurship Programme helps candidates consolidate the knowledge acquired during The ESADE MBA through its application in the development of innovative Business Plans.

Approached from the business start-up perspective as well as the "Corporate Intrapreneurship" perspective, our Entrepreneurship Programme has several objectives:

- To serve as an integrative platform for students to apply and consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout The ESADE MBA
- To structure the Entrepreneurship process so students can gain practical and hands-on experience in the creation and development of Business Plans
- To learn how to analyse and transform innovative ideas into profitable and sustainable business models
- To capture and organise resources which will allow the company to get off the ground
- To develop strategies which will enable the company to develop core competencies and protect itself from being easily reproduced by competitors over the long term
- To present and sell the business idea to potential investors in order to secure funding
- To identify and develop the key competencies and attributes that characterise successful Entrepreneurs.

Working in teams, Entrepreneurship will teach candidates how to analyse all facets of their business idea and fine tune their business acumen. The learning experience is applicable to entrepreneurs intent on launching their own business upon graduation, managers responsible for developing innovative projects for their companies as well as Venture Capitalists or Financial Analysts.

The course consists of three parts:
1. A conceptual introduction into Entrepreneurship and the key tools to be applied
2. An optional Feasibility Study during the summer break where participants analyse the viability of a business idea for a company or entrepreneur
3. Development of the Business Plan.
Throughout the course, candidates receive guidance from the ESADE Entrepreneurship Centre's (CINEM) Lecturing Team and Tutors. Given our strength in Entrepreneurship, the course is an excellent opportunity for students determined to launch their own businesses upon graduation to take full advantage of the wide variety of resources and experience available to them at ESADE. These resources include access to faculty and our extensive Alumni network, dedicated seminars, Business Plan competitions where members of the jury and audience include investors and business angels, as well as various networking events with the former.

Innovation Speed Dating

A joint initiative between our Entrepreneurship Institute and Career Services Department, the event has been designed as a meeting place between innovative projects and Full Time MBA participants undertaking the Entrepreneurship course.
In collaboration with leading Spanish institutes, innovative business ideas across the technology, science and creative categories are short-listed and presented to our MBA participants. As an interactive “match making” event, Innovation Speed Dating’s objective is to pair promising business ideas with our MBA participants who can volunteer to transform these ideas into structured business plans.
Apart from meeting the Entrepreneurship course’s professional development objectives, the possibility also exists for our MBA participants to launch the business plans and join these companies full time upon graduating from the Full Time MBA.
