ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

One of the basic prerequisites for applying to the Master of Science programmes is an undergraduate degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.

No, professional experience is not an admission requirement of the MSc Programmes in Management.

The MSc Programmes in Management are designed for young graduates without professional experience (internships are not counted as professional experience) or with minimal professional experience (under 2 years). The Masters programmes capitalise on previous knowledge by approaching it from a practical perspective and specialising in an area of interest. You also develop a range of personal and professional skills which will boost your career opportunities.

MBA programmes from world-leading Business Schools, such as ESADE, are aimed at professionals with at least two years professional experience. In fact, the average of our students is 5 years. MBAs are for graduates from any discipline who want to receive in-depth training in management. There are some MBA programmes which do not require a minimum of two years professional experience, however, these tend not to appear in rankings or on recruiters' shortlists.

LANGUAGES

They are taught entirely in English.
No, Spanish language knowledge is not required to be admitted to our MSc Programmes in Management.
Yes, there are compulsory Spanish classes as part of the study plan. From February you can also choose some electives in Spanish. If not, you can follow the whole program entirely in English.
Yes, you do, unless it is your mother tongue or you have studied a minimum of 3 academic years at an English-speaking university.
The following accrediatations are valid: TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge ESOL Examinations, PTE Academic.
Unless you are opting for the CEMS MIM, no accreditation of other languages is necessary. If you do have other accreditations, do present them; knowledge of foreign languages is highly valued in the admission process.

CEMS-MIM

No, you cannot. It must be studied in conjunction with one of the ESADE MSc Progammes in Management: Master in International Management, Master in Marketing Management, Master in Finance or Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

For non-native English speakers, proficiency in English language at advanced level is required.

For native English speakers, students must be proficient in one of the following foreign languages: Chinese (Mandarin) Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish or Turkish.

You have to submit the application for the MSc Progammes in Management: it is the same for all programmes but includes a special section for CEMS MIM candidates.
Yes, the interview is compulsory for all candidates as it helps us to know more about you and to clarify your suitability for the program. Most of these are held over the telephone, although if you are visiting the campus, you can also carry out the interview then.
In January  /Feburary, Programme Management will ask you to indicate your preferences, and as places on the exchange program are limited, these will be assigned according to academic merit from the first semester.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Now. We are already receiving online applications for the next edition of the programme to begin in September (sole intake). You should begin the admission process as early as possible given that there are very few places on this programme and if you wait until June, they may all have been filled. You don’t need to wait until you have all the supporting documents to submit your online application. Remember also that the admission process is lengthy and there are several steps which do not depend entirely on your availability:

Gather all the documentation required: academic record, university certificate, etc.

Take the GMAT: If you wait to take the GMAT at the last instant, you may find it is not possible in your city until long after you expected. Also bear in mind that if you are not satisfied with your score, you must wait a month until you can resit the exam.

Take a level test of English: Some are available twice or three times in one year. If you choose the TOEFL, you may find the same problem of lack of places as with the GMAT.

Apply for a visa: Do you need a visa to come to Barcelona? If so, apply for it as soon as you are accepted on the programme. The visa process is usually lengthy and must be done entirely in your home country.

As we run a rolling Admission process, please check the Staged Application Deadlines to know when you should complete your file and when you will receive the decision. The sooner you apply the better. You don’t need to wait until you have all the supporting documents to submit your online application.

The process begins when you submit your application and pay the process fees. Currently, the steps you must follow are:

Send us the required documentation (during the Admissions process we will accept scanned copies of your documents.  Once you are admitted we will request originals).

Take the GMAT OR GRE admissions test. 

Carry out a personal interview

Taking into account the Application Rounds' dates, once all documentation has been received, including academic record, the GMAT or GRE score, language certificates, etc., the Admissions Committee will begin to assess your application. This process takes approximately one month. The decision of the Admissions Committee will be uploaded on your Intranet.

Your letter of acceptance includes instructions to reserve your place.
Yes, you can, but you do not have to send the application twice. Simply submit your application to your preferred programme and indicate your second choice.
It is not obligatory, as we can conduct interviews over the telephone but where possible, we would recommend candidates take their interview in person.

GMAT / GRE

The GMAT and GRE are admissions tests. You may prepare for them at any certified GMAT or GRE centre near you by taking one of their preparatory courses. Some students choose to download material from the internet and take the exam of their own accord.
The average GMAT score for the Masters in International Management, Marketing Management and Innovation and Entrepreneurship is 650 and 670 for the Master in Finance.

ONLINE APPLICATION & CHECKING STATUS

You will probably find the answer to many doubts about online application in this document. If after reading it, you still have doubts, please contact the Admissions Office.
Don't worry. If you are in your final year at university, you will not be able to send an official copy of your degree until shortly before the programme start date. This does not interrupt the admission process but you must submit your degree certificate once you have it.

FINANCING AND GRANTS

Yes, there is. You can apply for a grant for academic merit. We also organize an annual Business Plan competition with grants for these programs as awards. If you would like more detailed information, please visit the scholarship section of this webpage
You should submit your grant applications together with your application documents and these will be considered only after you have been admitted to the programme. A grant application does not exempt you from reserving your place in the period indicated in your letter of acceptance.

REGISTRATION AND STARTING THE COURSE

They start in September. The Registrar's Office will notify you of the exact date. You should arrive in Barcelona, at the very latest, by the second week of September.
The first phase of the program is made up of five compulsory subjects, so registration is automatic. Once at ESADE, you will register for the remaining subjects after a tutorial with the program director.
