Our history
Since its foundation, Esade has understood that a skilled professional should be extremely competent in several languages. To make this possible, Esade created its own language school, which is today called the “Esade Language Center”. We are a leader in language learning in Barcelona and across Europe.

How important are languages?
Fifty years ago, the ability to speak another language was an added plus in the job market. Today, it is a fundamental requirement for success in an increasingly competitive and globalized world. Companies and organizations no longer ask candidates to have a certain level in a given language – candidates must now have excellent communication skills in several languages.
Esade recruiters stress that mastering at least two languages (in addition to the students’ own) is the most important skill when it comes to working in international business and legal firms: 95% consider this skill essential.
Language education: What do we offer our students?
Good language teaching is more than merely transmitting knowledge. Our mission focuses on our students’ holistic development as effective communicators and intercultural professionals, and especially, as committed and responsible individuals. The Esade Language Center enables students to play an active role in a learning process that is motivating and effective – and with personalized assessment.
Who are we?
We are a team of 33 teachers from different countries and backgrounds – united by our passion for teaching our languages. That is why we have become language teaching experts. We love to innovate and test new methodologies and dynamics to help our students communicate effectively.
Our priority is for students to achieve their goals.
What do we do?
We offer our experience and a unique methodology for all Esade students – from those attending undergraduate programs to the Full-Time MBA. We help them quickly progress by creating relevant content for each student profile and program.
How do we do it?
As part of Esade’s new “Student First” educational experience, we have created an active and innovative methodology that makes students the protagonists of their own learning process. This approach favors personalized learning inside and outside the classroom.

Individual learning: ATAWAD
(Anytime, anywhere, with any device):
Students advance at their own pace and study as much as they need. They discover new information and begin putting it into practice before attending class. Later, they reflect on what they have learned and expand their critical thinking skills. Students have the freedom and flexibility to study when and where they want, improving their self-awareness and self-confidence as they progress.
Enriched in-class learning
Guided by the teacher, our students learn together in the classroom. They are the stars of their own learning process and the teacher is an expert to whom they can turn.
Learning through context
(On and off-site)
Students are immersed in motivating learning experiences: projects that are rooted in real life outside the classroom; thematic workshops; and intensive mini-group exercises focused on specific skills and with personalized expert assessment.
