ESADE ASSOCIATIONS

Live your university experience to the full

Are you an active person with a variety of interests and hobbies? Would like to participate in university life outside the classroom? Then ESADE is the perfect place for you. At ESADE, you can choose from up to nine different student associations:

• that organise hundreds of activities each year, in Spain and abroad;

• where you can meet and interact with students from all years and of all nationalities;

• where you can enhance your training by networking and putting your skills and abilities to use.

Choose an association and join

You have a variety of options: from sports, leisure and cultural associations to young entrepreneurs and volunteer work associations. Many of them moreover have links to other universities around the world with which they organise exchange programmes and joint activities.

Simply choose the one (or ones!) that best suits your interests and get ready to enjoy the vibrant university life at ESADE to the full:

ESADE Sports

If you love sports, then join the ESADE sports community. You will be able to play on one of the official teams (basketball, 5-a-side football, volleyball, tennis and paddle tennis) to take part in weekly league matches and participate in international tournaments all over Europe.

The association also organises two major events each year:

Sports Day: Open to all ESADE students (BBA, law and master’s programmes).

EuroESADE: More than 550 business students from 11 different countries participated in the last edition of this three-day international sporting event featuring basketball, 5-a-side football, volleyball, tennis, paddle tennis and cheerleading.

The E3 Initiative

In this association for young entrepreneurs, you will meet students with business ideas or who see themselves starting a business in future. BBA students hold the most important offices in the association, which is headquartered in EGarage, a space created by ESADE to help students get new projects off the ground. The goal? To see ESADE entrepreneurs thrive.

In addition to its many other activities, the association organises four main events:

Start-up Forum

Start-up Turbo

Start-up Wednesday

TEDxESADE

Finance & Economy Group (FEG)

This is the largest finance student association at ESADE, so if you have chosen this major or are pursuing one of our master’s programmes in finance, you are strongly encouraged to join.

Its objectives are twofold:

1. To bring the financial and investment industry closer to students.

2. To assist with students’ career development and enhance their employability in the industry.

To this end, it organises a wide range of activities, from lectures by speakers from international investment banks to dinners with finance gurus, with a view to equipping members with a unique set of tools, skills and networking opportunities.

As the world’s largest student-run organisation, AIESEC aims to help students hone their leadership skills with internships and volunteer programmes. It moreover has an international exchange programme that each year offers more than 20,000 students and recent graduates a chance to live and immerse themselves in another country.

• More than 90,000 students

• Present in more than 133 countries

• Present at more than 2,400 universities around the world

• Supported by more than 8,000 partner organisations

• Annually offers 24,000 leadership positions

• Organises more than 500 lectures for its community

E-youth

If you are interested in joining the working world as you complete your degree, you should consider this association. Empresa i Joventut (Enterprise and Youth), or eJoventut, is a junior firm managed by ESADE students that aims to provide its members with practical work experience to supplement and enrich their classroom knowledge and allow them to acquire hands-on experience before graduating.

One of the biggest events organised by the association is the Innovation Quest: four days of talks, workshops, team-building exercises and, most important and exciting of all, the main business case competition, in which 200 students from ESADE and other top universities around the world compete to solve real cases for various multinational companies.

Empresa i Societat (Enterprise and Society), or EiS, was founded by ESADE students to promote social awareness and support through volunteer projects at both the individual and corporate level. If you are interested in volunteering, this association offers a variety of ways to help.

Some of its projects include:

• The food drive competition for the El Gran Recapte (The Big Drive) campaign sponsored by Fundació Banc dels Aliments (Food Bank Foundation) in Barcelona.

• The “Tapones para Nacho” (Caps for Nacho) campaign.

St. George’s Day charity rose and bracelet sale, in conjunction with Obra Social Sant Joan de Deu, to which all funds raised were donated.

ESADE con Filipinas (ESADE with the Philippines): fundraising through the “Mi Grano de Arena” crowdfunding platform for charity initiatives.

Bicicletas Sin Fronteras (Bicycles without Borders) project: a social consultancy in collaboration with E-Joventut.

Oikos Barcelona aims to guide students and businesses towards a socioeconomically sustainable future. To this end, it organises events and activities to raise awareness and promote values that contribute to environmental, social and financial sustainability at companies and organisations. If you would like to help lead the transition to a more sustainable economy, join the group and participate in one or more of its initiatives.

ESADE International Student Committee (CIEE)

Internationalise your university experience: The CIEE’s main mission is to promote international relations among students from around the world. Its activities offer an excellent opportunity to interact and trade experiences and points of view with people from other countries through a wide variety of leisure activities.

International Weeks
The CIEE belongs to the International Week Coordinating Organisation, a global organisation of student associations that promotes social, economic and cultural exchanges among students from around the world. To this end, each committee holds an International Week (IW) once a year with a view to offering students an international experience. For one week, the organising committee invites one or two people from each university to participate in its IW, offering tours of the city, the university, local companies, etc.

CIEE is responsible for organising the Barcelona IW, as well as for sending ESADE students to the IWs organised by other committees.
