Biography
After three years in industry, he joined ESADE Business School's Department of Business Policy as faculty member in 1982. He was one of the founding members and the first director of ESADE's Institute of Public Management (1986-1989). For 18 years, he combined his teaching and research activities with consultancy in organizational development and strategy. In addition to working for large Spanish and multinational companies in different industries, he has also served as policy advisor and consultant for several government and public administrations in Spain. He was appointed Dean of ESADE Business School in September 2000.
Professor Mendoza has extensive international experience. He has been Visiting Professor at SDA-Bocconi, Italy (1989-1994), and has lectured and presented conference papers at various academic institutions and professional associations in Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
He is Academic Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of the European Academy of Business in Society (Brussels); member of the Initial Accreditation Committee of AACSB-International (Tampa, USA); member of the EFMD Deans & Directors Steering Committee (Brussels); member of the Executive Board of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) in Paris; member of the Governing Body of Ramon Llull University (Barcelona) and member of the Editorial Advisory Committee of Corporate Governance: The International Journal of Business in Society.
