Biography
Rebeca Carpi has been linked with university-level teaching of Civil Law and Compared Law since joining ESADE Law School in 2000, where she studied for her PhD and defended her doctoral thesis in 2003.
She has published several books and articles. Of note among her publications are the following: 'La hipoteca en garantía de deuda ajena' (2002), 'La protección del acreedor y del hipotecante no deudor durante la fase de seguridad de la hipoteca' (2002), 'La tutela del acreedor ante el perjuicio de la hipoteca inmobiliaria' (2005), 'Realización del valor del bien hipotecado: ¿acto dispositivo del acreedor hipotecario'' (2006) and 'Sistemas jurídicos indígenas de Guatemala: una propuesta desde el positivismo de Hart' (2007.
She has participated in several R&D projects financed in competitive public calls (Ministry of Education and Science, Government of Catalonia).
She is currently responsible for the University Development Service and Social Actions at ESADE Law School. She has previously served as Director of the Law School's International Relations.
She is substitute magistrate for the Provincial Court of Tarragona, by appointment of the Governing Body of the Spanish Judiciary for the 2006-2007 judicial year.
She has also served as Consulting Professor in Civil Law at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) since 2005.
