Biography
Luis Vives is an Associate Professor of the Department of Business Policy at ESADE Business School and Director of International Custom Programs in Executive Education. Before joining ESADE, Luis was Postdoctoral Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
Professor Vives holds a PhD from IESE Business School, Bachelor degress in Business Administration, Piano and Music Theory. He has been Visiting Professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (Netherlands) and Lecturer at the School of International Trade (ESCI), University Pompeu Fabra (Spain). His teaching has been recognized with several awards. He was recognized by CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education) as Course of the Year for 2008, among 120 courses across 17 business schools and universities.
Professor Vives has participated in executive programs in the United States, Europe and Latin America. He has designed, taught and worked with multinational companies in different sectors such as banking and insurance, telecommunications, wines and spirits, pharmaceutical, and industrial and logistics companies such as APM Terminals - Maersk Group, AXA, Santander, Telefónica and Roland, among others.
His research focuses on the internationalization process and multinational management and the creation and development of business models. His work has appeared in: Sloan Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Long Range Planning, Advances in International Management, Advances in Strategic Management, Academy of Management Perspectives, Universia Business Review as well as in several books on international business.
Professor Vives is also a member of the Economic Council of the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and member of the editorial board of academic journals: Journal of Management Studies, Management Studies, Global Research Strategy and Management Journal.
