Biography
His research and teaching work has always dealt with the contribution of companies to society and the human quality of organizations.
He has published five papers and seven books. Among his books, "Danone en Ultzama" won the MSD Award for Business Ethics Research (2005), and his book "Ètica i empresa" received the Joan Sardà Dexeus Award in 1998 for the best book on company economics (it has also been published in Spanish by Trotta and in English by Kluwer). He has also collaborated on a further 33 books. He is the Director of the Observatory on Ethical, Ecological and Social Investment Funds in Spain, which has already published five reports (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004).
He is currently preparing an essay entitled "The citizen company". He has also collaborated on various newspapers.
He is a co-founder of Ética, Economía y Dirección (the Spanish branch of the European Business Ethics Network); a member of the international board of Ethical Perspectives and of the Society and Business Review; he is also a member of the board of trustees or of the advisory board of various foundations
and associations. He was ESADE's representative in the consortium of European universities that created the European Academy on Business in Society (EABiS). He was a member of the Commission for the Debate on Values, created by the Generalitat (Autonomous Government) of Catalonia, and is a member of the Forum of Experts in CSR of the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. He was
recognized as a 'highly commended runner-up' in the Faculty Pioneer Award (2003), granted by EABiS and the Aspen Institute (USA).
He has been an ESADE Professor since 1986.
