Biography
Dr Jan Brinckmann is Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy in the Department of Business Policy at ESADE. Before joining ESADE, he was Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago, where he served as Program Director of the Entrepreneurship Program. Prior to this, he taught at Cornell University and the Technical University Berlin. He additionally did research stays at Stanford University and Case Western Reserve University.
Dr Brinckmann's research has been published in five books and prestigious entrepreneurship journals including the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
He regularly presents at leading international entrepreneurship conferences and has received two best paper awards.
Dr Brinckmann has co-founded, advised and supported several start-ups and high-growth firms in the US, Germany, Spain, Malta and Kenya. His focus lies in supporting start-ups, business development, entrepreneurial marketing, and internationalization. He has a passion for applying the lean startup methodology.
Dr Brinckmann has received scholarships and awards from the German Business Association, the German Exchange Service, the German Parliament, the American Congress, and also from various academic institutions.
