He is Professor of Economics at the Universitat Ramon Llull and a Professor at ESADE. He was Director of the Department of Economics 1992-2000 and of the Masters in Economic-Financial Management, Marketing Management, and Production and Operations Management at ESADE. He was Joint Director, PHARE programmes of the European Union in the countries of the East and Chairman of the International Conference on Euro-India Economic Relationship New Delhi, India. He has been a Visiting Professor at various business schools and universities: CEIBS, Jiaotong University Shanghai, China, ESAN Lima, Peru, ICDA Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a member of the editorial board of Annals of Tourism Research; a member of the Tourism European Network Eurostat, a member of the Group of Experts on Industrial Competitiveness, a member of the Governing Body of the Association of Economists and a member of the Evaluation Committee of the Community of European Management Schools.He was a Director of Consultur, Consultores Turísticos SA Editur Group, now Tea-Cegos, an Economist of the General Directorate of Economic Programming, a Researcher for the General Directorate of Scientific Policy and an Economist in the Systems and Control Department of Banco Sabadell.He has carried out professional consultancy work and has developed projects commissioned by international companies and organizations in a total of 48 countries, in sectors as diverse as energy, tourism, infrastructures, the financial system and the social services.
