Biography
He is Chairman of the Nóos Institute, a scientific association whose mission is to promote research into the strategies of patronage, social responsibility, and sponsorship. He chairs the Organizing Committees of two international congresses, the Valencia Summit and the Illes Balears Forum. He is a member of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management.
He has acted as consultant to organizations such as Abertis, BBVA, Repsol, Santander Central Hispano, SEAT, the SGAE and Telefónica, helping to draw up their sponsorship, patronage and social responsibility strategies. He has also advised various cities on how to take advantage of major sports events as opportunities for territorial development. He began his career as a consultant in Arthur Andersen and, subsequently, as a manager in Hewlett-Packard.
He has published numerous articles and publications, in addition to several books, such as: 'El compromiso con los stakeholders', 'Cómo elaborar un plan estratégico', 'El patrocinio visto por sus principales protagonistas', 'El plan de empresa', 'Major Sport Events as Opportunity for the Development of Cities', 'New Trends in Management of Major Sport Events', 'La necesaria implicación de la ciudad para el éxito de un gran evento deportivo', 'New Views on Sport Tourism' and 'Building a Working Agenda in the Field of Sport and Tourism'.
He currently teaches Competitive Strategy on the MBA programme and Strategic Consulting on the Combined Undergraduate & Master in Management Programme. He has been a Lecturer at ESADE since 1989.
