Opportunities and basic principles for creating value

This programme enables participants to understand the dynamics of value creation through innovation.
It also proposes the grounds for constructing key executive skills, entrepreneurial leadership and fundamental management guidelines for solid innovation.

The programme aims to help companies to achieve the following key objectives:

  • To identify opportunities for innovation;
  • To build the foundations for solid innovation management.

The programme begins by carrying out an initial diagnosis to establish the starting point of each participant's company:

  • What is the current status of the company in regard to innovation?
  • What challenges emerge from this diagnosis?

To answer these fundamental questions, it is necessary to deal with other
issues which will be addressed during the programme:

  • How to integrate innovation into business strategy?
  • Based on an innovation project, what are the value creation dynamics?
  • How can we identify opportunities for innovation?
  • What are the fundamentals of entrepreneurial leadership?
  • What patterns and what management system should accompany an innovation programme?
  • What organisational environment conditions facilitate innovation?

Este programa permite comprender la dinámica de la creación de valor a través de la innovación.
Asimismo propone las bases para la construcción de las competencias directivas esenciales, el liderazgo emprendedor y las pautas de gestión fundamentales para llevar a cabo una sólida corriente innovadora.

El programa pretende ayudar a las empresa a conseguir los siguientes objetivos fundamentales:

  • Identificar oportunidades de innovación
  • Construir los fundamentos para una sólida gestión de la innovación

El programa arranca determinando la situación de partida de cada una de las empresas de
los participantes a través de un diagnóstico inicial:

  • ¿Cuál es la situación actual de la empresa respecto a la innovación?
  • ¿Qué retos emergen a partir de este diagnóstico?

Para responder a estas preguntas fundamentales es necesario el planteamiento de otras
cuestiones que serán tratadas durante el programa:

  • ¿Cómo integrar la innovación en la estrategia empresarial?
  • ¿Cuáles son las dinámicas de creación de valor a partir de un proyecto de innovación?
  • ¿Cómo podemos identificar oportunidades de innovación?
  • ¿Cuáles son los fundamentos de un liderazgo emprendedor?
  • ¿Qué pautas y qué sistema de gestión deben acompañar un programa de innovación?
  • ¿Qué condiciones del entorno organizativo facilitan la innovación?

This programme has been designed for general managers and executives responsible for innovation and new business development in companies aiming to successfully implement a management system adapted to promote innovation in their organisations.

 


METHODOLOGY ADAPTED TO NEEDS
The experience that ESADE has accumulated over the years shows that one of the key points in the learning process is related to the participation of and interaction among programme participants. The methodologies used in the programme constantly promote the exchange of experiences among participants, faculty and invited speakers. Professors and lecturers act as facilitators of the process and provide reference models that lay the foundations for successful innovation management and new business creation.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Effective learning involves comparing the programme’s concepts, methods and experiences with the particular business environment of each participant. At the start of the programme participants fill in a questionnaire that allows them to complete the first learning stage regarding their own business reality. Participants can, in this way, compare their first impressions and build up a solid knowledge base throughout the programme.

LECTURES
Some of the sessions will involve lectures from executives representing companies in the field of innovation and new business creation.
These lectures are intended to provide participants with practical tips from companies that are involved in the field of innovation.

CASE ANALYSIS
The analysis of cases centred on innovation and the creation of new businesses is another way to encourage learning through comparing different business experiences. Both lectures and case studies are essential for participants to be able to extract basic management guidelines, which can be put into practice in their respective business environments.

PRESENTATIONS
In order to apply learning to business realities, the last day of each of the two modules, Wednesday, will be devoted to presentations delivered by programme participants. These presentations are a first step towards establishing innovation opportunities and putting improvements in innovation management into practice.
