The Role of Serial Entrepreneurs in Innovation Ecosystems

Buenos Aires

It is widely accepted that entrepreneurship, and the role played by the entrepreneur, is fundamental to bringing about innovation in new businesses. An emerging idea taking hold in the field of innovation and new high-growth business creation is what role is being played, and can be played in the future, by serial entrepreneurs – i.e. those individuals who have been through several consecutive cycles of detecting opportunities, developing successful business models, launching new companies, managing rapid growth, selling the business and starting over again. This leads us to another question that deserves an answer: What is the impact of the serial entrepreneur’s learning curve and the economic resources that he/she has “collected” by selling businesses and by creating and/or consolidating new high-potential companies?
