At this session, we will review several examples of financial crises throughout history, and then analyse the origin, evolution and international impact of the financial crisis of August 2007. We will then look at how this crisis influenced and overlapped with the Spanish downturn of 2008 and 2009. Mr. Sanz will wrap up the session by evaluating the results of the adopted measures, discussing the restructuring of the financial system, and explaining how the main macroeconomic magnitudes and variables have influenced this restructuring process.
