Introduction to Strategic Management

Tortosa

At the end of the course, students will have developed an overall strategic vision of the direction they wish their company to take, and essential approaches to ensuring its success (operational knowledge and managerial skills).

The programme is primarily designed for students with current or past experience in management in any type of organisation (business, public, political or social), whose profession has led them to hold posts with responsibility for strategic decisions, and who now wish to formalise their experience, concerns and knowledge on the subject.

The programme targets three main groups: general managers running a family business (proprietors/non-proprietors), partner shareholders, and successor family members with management responsibilities in a family business.

  • To introduce, analyse and evaluate the complementary nature of two fields of management: strategic management and operational management.

  • To learn the differences between them and the value contributed by each.

  • To assimilate the owner-manager’s responsibility in strategic management.

  • To present organisational solutions for introducing strategic management into the family enterprise.

  • To prepare the company over time to assimilate concepts and methodologies for developing its strategic plan.
