Day 1

LEADERSHIP  AND  COMMUNICATION

  • Types of communication: one-to-one, public, mass interpersonal, Web 2.0 and the media 

HIGH- IMPACT  PRESENTATIONS:  COMMUNICATE  TO  CONVINCE 

  • Discourse models
  • Storytelling and metaphors, creating memorable messages
  • Structured lines of argument
  • Body language and voice
  • Rehearsing, emotional control techniques and staging
  • Workshop: practising public communication. Recordings and feedback

Day 2

MEDIA  INTERVIEWS

  • How to create media messages
  • Preparing responses, dialectic and difficult questions
  • Keeping control of the interview
  • Basic principles of each medium: television, radio and press
  • Body language and voice on the television
  • Workshop: simulation of television interview

MASS  INTERPERSONAL  COMMUNICATION,  WEB 2.0

  • Differences between live and recorded communication
  • Impact of online videos – Web 2.0
  • Creating audiovisual messages
  • Rehearsing, emotional control techniques and staging
  • Workshop: practising recording videos and video conferences
     

Face-to-face sessions   
This is a dynamic and interactive programme with one-to-one monitoring from faculty members.
Course teachers will provide the concepts and necessary tools to put participants into practice straight away. Each participant will work on their own presentation, video and press appearance.
Presentations will be video recorded to assist learning.

Teachers will give feedback as a team and constructive, individual criticism as well, pointing out strong points to nurture, areas for improvement and the critical factors of each presentation. Different types of exercises will be suggested to guarantee ongoing learning and secure progressive improvement.

Individual coaching
Each participant will state their personal goal and an action plan will be drawn upaccording to an analysis of the points to nurture or problems to solve.

Two one-to-one interviews, each an hour long, will be held with one of the teachers, who will act as coach. The first interview will be scheduled within the first month of the programme, and the second after two months.

Online monitoring
Each participant will follow their own learning programme, complete with exercises and specific recommendations to achieve their goals as a communicator. Participants will be monitored online and will also have access to a platform with forums, discussion topics, articles, links, videos, etc.
